FreightWaves reports that the Port of Los Angeles plans to begin charging ocean carriers a fee to allow empty containers to remain at the port’s marine terminals for nine days or longer. The fee, which is subject to approval by the Los Angeles Port Commission, will take effect on Jan. 30, 2022.
