Square launched Cash App Pay to challenge Paypal

Recently, the American payment platform Square announced the launch of Cash App Pay, which allows consumers to use the Cash App account to pay through a QR code or a button on a mobile device during checkout. Sellers can also use the tool to manage receipts, reconciliations, and settlements in the Square app. Before this, PayPal also introduced a similar function. Not long ago, Paypal also expanded its QR code payment service range and signed agreements with many new partners.

Adobe is adding payment services to its e-commerce platform

Adobe is launching a new payment service for its commerce platform. By adding payment services to Adobe Commerce, merchants of all sizes can access integrated payment solutions. Adobe Commerce’s payment services will be supported by the PayPal Commerce Platform, and Adobe merchants in the United States will be able to use them by the end of this year. Adobe also plans to support other regions including Canada, Australia, and Western Europe next year.

Port congestion, the average waiting time for berthing in West America is as high as 8.5 days

According to the latest data from the container transportation platform Seaexplorer, as ports in all continents are facing operational interruptions, as of September 13, more than 349 large-scale carriers have berthed outside the port. In the first half of this year, the container throughput of major ports in the United States, Northern Europe, and Asia increased by 10% to 70% year-on-year. In Asia, the throughput of the Port in Singapore rose by 27%, followed by Yantian with 24%, and Shanghai and Ningbo with 23%. However, the Port of Long Beach in Southern California had the largest increase among the ports surveyed. At present, 22 container ships are waiting for a berth at the anchorage in Southern California; 16 ships are waiting outside the port. The average waiting time for berth has increased from 8.1 days a week ago to 8.5 days. The time can be up to 16 days.

Walmart will implement GoLocal delivery service at the end of the year

A few days ago, American retailer Walmart announced that it would launch a delivery service called “GoLocal” to help other local retailers deliver goods directly to consumers. The service is expected to be put into operation by the end of this year, and the delivery method will be self-driving cars and drones. In addition, Walmart has also developed APIs to connect to the platforms that sellers currently settle in or use, so that when consumers place an order, GoLocal will receive relevant notifications, follow up the order, dispatch drivers, and collect feedback on the delivery experience.

US second-hand e-commerce Poshmarkis officially launched in India

Recently, Poshmark Inc, an American second-hand e-commerce company, announced its official entry into the Indian market. Poshmark is a social trading e-commerce market for second-hand clothing, shoes, and accessories that combines physical shopping. Since its establishment in 2011, Poshmark has had more than 80 million users and 200 million items for sale in the United States, Canada, and Australia. In the second quarter of 2021, The transaction volume is as high as 1.8 billion dollars.

Most people fail with their dropshipping store because they are not unique.⁣

There are so many people starting with dropshipping right now, it’s no longer the secret way of making money online but has become very mainstream.⁣

Everyone wants a piece of it because so many of these “gurus” advertised it as an easy way to earn money online. ⁣

But do you know what the sad thing is?⁣

Most of them don’t put any effort into their dropshipping store.⁣

They open their store, import some products without changing anything, and start advertising.⁣

This means that a lot of people that are dropshipping are selling the same products with the same information they got from maybe even the same dropshipping suppliers.⁣

Of course, having the same product is not a bad thing yet, but to also have the same images, descriptions, and so on will definitely not help you!⁣

So you might be asking yourself “HOW DO I SUCCEED WITH DROPSHIPPING THEN”⁣

Here are a few tips to help you out: ⁣

𝟏 - 𝐁𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞⁣

Don’t try to copy everything to save some time! I see people literally copy and paste descriptions from aliexpress suppliers, take content from other stores and copy/paste it on their store and then wonder why they are not getting sales. ⁣

It’s because you are stealing content from other unsuccessful stores, you need to be unique and different and make everything on your store specific to your brand and at the same time personalise it to your customers and buyer persona. ⁣

Some key areas to focus on and unique at with your store are: ⁣

Product Images - Product Descriptions - Site Design - Brand Persona etc⁣

𝟐 - 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐟⁣

Here’s a sales secret for you, people always buy what others are buying and what that shows us is people look at other customers' opinions and experience before deciding if they should buy your product or not. ⁣

In order to win here, you need to have product reviews and ratings.

A study found that 88% of consumers trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations, and 72% of consumers say positive reviews make them trust businesses more.⁣

Millennials, in particular, trust user-generated content 50% more than other media.⁣

This should be enough reason for you to understand how important reviews are and if you want to build a successful store, you need to have reviews. ⁣

𝟑 - 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐞 & 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐮𝐭

Look at what your competition is doing, what is working for other people, what other stores lack and then improve your store based on your findings. ⁣

This is an easy way to dominate any market and in relation to a dropshipping store, here are a few examples of what I mean: ⁣

- If your competitor doesn’t offer PayPal for checking out, then offer PayPal.⁣

- If your competitor doesn’t have trust badges, then add trust badges.⁣

- If your competitor doesn’t have the basic pages like a refund policy, then add those pages (note: you should always have these pages).⁣

And there are many more examples!⁣
